Body worn cameras
We’ve carried out a customer consultation about bpha employees wearing body cameras, followed by a trial.
A number of staff who work alone, or in higher risk situations, will now be able to wear these. The cameras will always be visible, so if a bpha employee is wearing one, you will see it. No recordings can or will be made covertly.

The device only records when activated by the wearer - for example if an incident occurs and/or visual or audio evidence may be needed to support a customer or bpha employee.
Any footage taken will be stored in-line with data protection regulations. Only recordings that form part of an incident will be kept – any other footage will be retained for 30 days and then deleted.
If footage is needed as evidence, anyone captured on camera who is not directly involved will be pixilated to ensure they’re not identifiable.
Thanks to the customers who took part in our consultation on this. If you have any questions about the use of body worn cameras, please contact us.
