Talk

Connecting your community
Hello and welcome to Talk,
Hi, I’m Farhanah Iqbal, bpha’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Partner. I work with colleagues across bpha, alongside customers and communities, to help shape fair services, policies and ways of working. This means making them inclusive, accessible, empathetic and responsive to your needs and lived experiences. We aim to use guidance and resources that are accessible to everyone using them, remove barriers and champion equal opportunities to give you and others living in your community, better outcomes.
If we know more about you, it helps us to do that – that could mean changing how we communicate with you, or supporting you through changes to your home so that you can live safely. On page 7 you can find out more about this, and how to update us.
I’m pleased to let you know about My Wellbeing Toolbox, which gives practical online help and ideas for challenges that many of us experience from time to time, including not sleeping or feeling anxious, or low. Read more and access the Toolbox on page 5.
On page 8, meet five of the volunteers that keep Café Connect, a community hub in Queens Park, Bedford up and running – and we also have an interview with bpha Service Improvement Panel member, Ross on page 15.
I hope that you enjoy reading,

Farhanah Iqbal, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Partner
